Weld Waits

Dear Parents,

We are so glad you joined us! Grab a cup of coffee and pull up a chair while we introduce ourselves and our program. Our purpose at this site is to give you practical tools you can use when you talk with your teens and support you as the #1 teacher in your child’s life (no joke – teens rated you this in a survey done by National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy in 2003 and MTV proved it again in 2007. Be encouraged, NOT ALL TEENS are having sex. Virgins are still in the majority (53% of teens, Colorado, have not had sex. CDPHE, YRBS 2007) and we need to let our sons and daughters know that it’s cool to save your heart and your body for your future spouse. This generation of teens, wants to make good choices and deserves to have accurate information and encouragement. 60% of teens who have had sex, state they wish they would have waited longer. (National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, 2007) As the parent, you can help them avoid the cycle of regret and broken dreams, not to mention STDs and unplanned pregnancies. Even if you have made poor choices in your life, you can still empower your child. A good friend once told me, "‘don’t do as I do’, is a hypocrite, but ‘don’t do as I did’, is a teacher”. We are here to walk the journey with you, so let’s get started.
